The answer is, not too well. Or, not as well as I wanted it to? We weren’t well for some of the month and that just leads to spending more on convenience foods.
So, we have the categories as follows:
bills – electric, water, gas, mobiles and internet ¥50,000
–> Actually spent: ¥28,363
–> Actually spent: ¥34,903 (this is the one!!)
eating out/leisure ¥40,000
–> Actually spent: ¥26,864 (we did all right, still a lot of money if you consider it. I’d ideally like it around the ¥20,000 mark)
–> Actually spent: ¥50,000 (he ...
I’m a bit late to the party on this one but I’ll keep it short.
I went to Sumi-Bio with my friend for lunch – don’t let the name put you off (sounds like the sort of place they might do experiments on you). They cater for vegans, vegetarians, meat-eaters, everyone (maybe)! It was really nice – I had a mixed veg set/BIO野菜(ビオやさい) 5種盛り.
Then we went to Tully’s and my friend had not a clue what I was on about when I said ‘Tully’s’ in my English accent. タリーズ in Japanese, obviously. We had a similar problem ...
We went to Hagi back in October for a Buddhist ceremony for my husband’s grandma. We were there for three days and unfortunately we got hit by a typhoon. Here are some photos from before said typhoon got us. We went to the beach and it was still really warm so we had kakigori. The green was melon and the white-orange was natsumikan which Hagi is famous for – it’s everywhere.
We then went to La Ceiba for dinner which I throughly recommend. It’s the second time I’ve been. The first time I was eating meat but this time I ...
So, I celebrated my birthday this weekend (not on the actual day) with my husband. We went to Takano Fruit Parlour in Shinjuku and had a wonderful fruit platter and a berry ice cream.
We’d never been in the parlour before, just the buffet. It was nice and busier than we were expecting. Of course the buffet was a lot busier with at least an hour wait time.
Then we headed over to Shinjuku Gyoen. Neither of us had ever been before and I’d been wanting to go. I’d read about it being quiet because people don’t want to pay ...
It’s nearly Halloween and I love Halloween. That makes it the perfect time of year for me. Although, this year I must say, I haven’t been really feeling so excited for it. I’ve actually been feeling more excited for Christmas. Nevertheless, we went to Yumenoshima Tropical Greenhouse Dome or 夢の島熱帯植物館 in Japanese, last weekend. I wanted to go last year but kept thinking it would always be packed with people wanting to photograph the pumpkins. I couldn’t have been more wrong, it was practically empty.
It was ￥500 to get in for a couple which I was ecstatic about.
