botanical garden and pumpkins

It’s nearly Halloween and I love Halloween. That makes it the perfect time of year for me. Although, this year I must say, I haven’t been really feeling so excited for it. I’ve actually been feeling more excited for Christmas. Nevertheless, we went to Yumenoshima Tropical Greenhouse Dome or 夢の島熱帯植物館 in Japanese, last weekend. I wanted to go last year but kept thinking it would always be packed with people wanting to photograph the pumpkins. I couldn’t have been more wrong, it was practically empty.

It was ¥500 to get in for a couple which I was ecstatic about.

todoroki valley

So, I am finall getting up my photos for Todoroki Valley. I went in June, so this is Todoroki Valley in June. I imagine it must be absolutely gorgeous in the autumn, so would recommend. I used to live really close to this place but I wasn’t aware of that fact at the time. Instead, I waited until I was living on the other side of Tokyo to visit; It only took over an hour to get there. It was a really beautiful place though and I would recommend going if you’re living in the city and want some peace ...

It’s the park…again!

It’s the park…again, but the clue was in the title.  I love this park.  We went at dusk this time and it was so peaceful and tranquil.  We saw a mummy turtle preparing to lay eggs which was really special and we saw lots of other turtles and carp.  It’s also free which sort of does make it hard not to like.

jr tokyo wide pass: day 2

Day two and look at the weather!  It was glorious.  We went to Izu Peninsula and we got off at Ito first. We wandered to the beach but there wasn’t much going on.  It was very peaceful just listening to the waves and not at all crowded.

Then we trotted on our way to the Jogasaki Coast.  We got the train to the station, which by the way is a lovely station, all wooden and walked down from there.  It’s only about 20 minutes-ish so you don’t need to get the bus, it is also very well signposted.

april memories
I’ve been really terrible for blogging recently, I apologise for that.  I haven’t been tending to take many photos either whilst I’ve been out and about but I’ll share the ones that I have taken.

I started off the month by going to see the cherry blossoms (you can see more pictures here if you would like).  This below two photos are at Yasukuni Shrine.

Then these were taken at The Imperial Palace, at the moat.  The queue for the boats was ridiculous.

The new Scott & Rivers album came out in April (go buy it if ...
