weekend escapades in tokyo

weezer

Last week, Weezer announced they are doing a Broadway residency for five nights, playing their new seasonal albums in September and I can’t tell you how much I want/ed to go. We costed it up and it was looking to be around £7,500 at least with flights, hotels, tickets and that’s not including any spending money. If we’d have had more notice, flights and hotels would have been cheaper but alas, it wasn’t to be. I hope they come back to Japan soon.

hot hot hot

Speaking of Japan, the heat! It has gone to full on summer and we are only in June. This weekend it’s been around 33/4 in Tokyo but with the humidity, it’s felt like 39/40.

sunday

For breakfast, we munched on our first watermelon of the summer and it was the perfect way to start the day.

We find that it’s best for us if we have a ‘mission’ that’s been decided on. It encourages us to get out of the house and get on with life otherwise we sit around discussing endlessly what’s good to do. Sunday’s mission was finding kakigori・かき氷.

We got the bus to Kameido (¥210 and no changing trains, it was fantastic). We did find kakigori, but we also found a shop that specialised in miso that served food and decided on that instead.

Hope you had a nice weekend.
Emily
