october memories and november wish list

I’m a bit late to the party on this one but I’ll keep it short.

october memories

I went to Sumi-Bio with my friend for lunch – don’t let the name put you off (sounds like the sort of place they might do experiments on you).  They cater for vegans, vegetarians, meat-eaters, everyone (maybe)!  It was really nice – I had a mixed veg set/BIO野菜(ビオやさい) 5種盛り.

Then we went to Tully’s and my friend had not a clue what I was on about when I said ‘Tully’s’ in my English accent. タリーズ in Japanese, obviously.  We had a similar problem ...

five frugal things – 140717

This week I’m going to write about frugal things I do to stay cool. It’s gotten so hot here in Tokyo this last week, in the 30’s pretty much every day. I am definitely not made for such weather – I hate it in fact, so let’s go with the theme of cooling down on these hot days.

Get a fan and use that fan. Of course I mean an electrical one but I also use the handheld one above when I’m out and about.  I use my electric one in the day and we also ...

april memories and may wish list

april memories
I’ve been really terrible for blogging recently, I apologise for that.  I haven’t been tending to take many photos either whilst I’ve been out and about but I’ll share the ones that I have taken.

I started off the month by going to see the cherry blossoms (you can see more pictures here if you would like).  This below two photos are at Yasukuni Shrine.

Then these were taken at The Imperial Palace, at the moat.  The queue for the boats was ridiculous.

The new Scott & Rivers album came out in April (go buy it if ...

pots and pans

‘As you like’ it says and do like.  I like it a lot.

This is a catalogue my husband got for going to a wedding.  You get to look through and pick a present. There was a lot of choice (see this page for the extent of choice: we had ジャスミン).  We went for something practical.  We needed a new frying pan, so guess what we got.  Yeah!  A frying pan.  For free.

So, I said for free but this isn’t really the case.  We had to fork out about £200/¥30,000 as gift money which  broke my heart, I ...

lazy sunday

Oh what a lovely Sunday, oh what a beautiful day.  It was such a nice Sunday!  We went down to the beachy bit at Kasai Rinkai Park and walked around.  There were a lot of people in the actual park bit but not so many on the beach which was nice as I’m not a huge fan of crowded places.  ‘Why do you live in Tokyo then?’  you might ask and the answer is, I don’t know.  Anyway, enjoy the pictures and make sure to visit if you haven’t already.

You can see Disney off in the distance.  The ...
