Hong Kong 2026

I arrived in Hong Kong with my mum and we got a taxi to the hotel to drop off my bags. Then we went for Hong Kong pizza, a little walk around and the boat over to the other side and back. I took my mum back to the airport and then C arrived at the hotel later on having come from Disney.

Day one

We started the day at Bakehouse. We loved it there! We both eventually bought Bakehouse socks and I also got a hat. We wandered around the park near our hotel and the waterfront and then went to the garden on top of K11 Musea and I had a Hong Kong Buddha bowl and C had Hong Kong avocado toast.

Later on we did eventually eat some Chinese food – vegetable dumplings.

Day two

We were going to go to Macau but it was a clear day so we decided to go up Victoria Peak. We of course had started the day off at Bakehouse and then had Bakehouse again at the top.

In the evening we went to a vegetarian restaurant and then later on we watched the light show.

Day three

Macau today and we wanted to go to Bakehouse for breakfast but I don’t think we had time, so then we were going to go to Pret but we also didn’t have time for that so as a last resort, we ended up in Starbucks. Neither of us really like Starbucks but by the end of the trip, you wouldn’t have known that! Our order – fruit pot to share, two mixed berry yoghurts with granola and two flat whites, one with oat milk and one with regular milk.

We got the boat there and we both felt sick. We decided to get the bus back but it took two hours and we had to get off about three times to go through airport-like security. The boat was better.

In Macau we pretty much spent the day in the casino area bit. C wanted to play a game of roulette but had a man next to her trying to direct what she should do. She didn’t win. Then we went for lunch, walked around fake London and Paris and then got a taxi to the more traditional bit, bought an egg tart and then went back.

Day four

Steamed egg custard buns and HK french toast for breakfast. As it was our last day, we went to Bakehouse to get coffee. At some point during our time in Hong Kong we needed to actually plan what we were doing and where we were going but we had no paper. Something we did have an abundance of was Bakehouse paper bags so we ripped two up and used those as our ‘planning bags’.

The slippery Starbucks slope kind of started in the airport. We had cash left over so we went to Starbucks to get food for the plane to Taiwan. We made it into a game of seeing if we could use up the exact amount of cash we had left which we did! We weren’t allowed to eat it on the plane but C made me even though she knows I don’t like breaking the rules. I felt very uncomfortable.
