Vancouver・Mexico City・Toronto・Montreal 2026 – 2/3

Thank God we decided to go to Mexico, the saving grace of the trip. We walked loads and I even wore skirts sometimes! We had around four days and I’d really like to go back.

Mexico City

We stayed at a bed and breakfast which I can be fussy about because I don’t want to become mates with the owner and the other people staying there but it was all right. The breakfasts were nice and all vegetarian.

#day1
We walked to the Historic Centre.

We went for hot chocolate and I had mine with milk and my husband, for some reason, had his with water. He tried to pretend he liked it, but there’s no fooling me! I’m nice, so I shared. The chocolates were really good.

#day2
Big Japan boom in Mexico (like everywhere else it seems), especially matcha. We headed to the Museo Tamayo Arte Contemporáneo and Museo de Arte Moderno.

#day3
I didn’t care for any of the coffee I had in Mexico. I like bitter coffee but the trend at the moment is high acidity/sourness/fruitiness (however 酸味 translates in English). We told the guy we were going to Museo Nacional de Antropología and he said most of it is in the British Museum anyway which made me laugh. We had tacos and at the night, dinner at Baldio.

#day4
We went to the Frida Kahlo Museum and I was glad we’d watched the film before we went. There was a massive thunderstorm at the night and we got caught in it without an umbrella. Our flight was really early the next morning, so we had to creep out of the B&B to get the taxi. Loved Mexico and hopefully will be able to go back one day.
