国内旅行: Tokyo to Hagi 3of6

We departed Hagi, bound for Izumo. It has a famous shrine – Izumo Taisha. It has a huge straw rope and was the birth place of Japan.

For lunch we went for soba and zenzai. Apparently it’s traditional (but where can’t you get soba in Japan?). It came with a little fortune and a sand charm.

Then we started strolling down towards the train station where there are lots of little souvenir type shops and kiosks selling food. We had honey ice cream.

Next, we hopped on the train to Matsue.

We’ve made it! This is the last you’ll have to read about Yamaguchi for a while!

Day seven and our final day (not really, but I’ve kind of written them that way – we stayed for about three weeks in total).

We headed back over to near Daishōin Temple・大照院 to go to Moco Cafe that we’d seen but not been brave enough to venture into. After some research, we decided that it looked nice and took the plunge.

We’re back and straight into day three where we found ourselves getting the bus to Myojin Pond and Kasayama.

botanical garden and pumpkins

It’s nearly Halloween and I love Halloween. That makes it the perfect time of year for me. Although, this year I must say, I haven’t been really feeling so excited for it. I’ve actually been feeling more excited for Christmas. Nevertheless, we went to Yumenoshima Tropical Greenhouse Dome or 夢の島熱帯植物館 in Japanese, last weekend. I wanted to go last year but kept thinking it would always be packed with people wanting to photograph the pumpkins. I couldn’t have been more wrong, it was practically empty.

It was ¥500 to get in for a couple which I was ecstatic about.
