I love wood pigeons. I like all pigeons but the wood pigeon is my absolute favourite kind of bird. I like watching them bop about and I like their little affronted-looking faces. I like how they like to run more than fly and how they have some bully tendencies. They look like a teacher that taught at my high school called Mr Dowd and so I refer to them as this and collectively as Mr Dowds. This week in the wildlife photos on The Guardian there was a photo of one yawning and it’s so cute!
