federal cafe bar

We’d tried going to Federal Cafe Bar in the Northern Quarter on the Sunday we ended up going to Idle Hands. There was a queue and we decided to try again on a weekday. Well, we rolled up on a weekday and there was a queue! It was also raining that day so that was our punishment for impatience. ‘Patience is a virtue I need’ were words in a song from school that I have obviously not learnt yet… We joined the queue – two groups in front of us and a member of staff came out pretty swiftly to put our names on the list and offer us an umbrella. We had hoods so we were fine.

More people joined behind us and then our turn came and in we headed to a cosy little space. It was obviously full but didn’t feel cramped. You could order on your phone or at the bar, I chose the latter because I couldn’t see what our table number was. (Hint – it’s on the on the bottle with the dried flowers in.) There was lots to choose from but we knew what we wanted. Iced latte for me and then we both had the eggs Benedict with avocado – do the same and you won’t go wrong. The staff were all really friendly and they also just give you water without the need to ask.

Perfection and I would love to go again.
