The Tickled Trout + Brockholes Nature Reserve, Preston

Why was I even in the UK? Well, I was enjoying spending time with friends and family but my big reason was that one of my oldest friends was getting married.

It was such a unique location – Brockholes Nature Reserve in Preston. My pictures don’t do it justice and I also don’t want to infringe on my friends privacy, so I have just added a couple of photos of the scenery. It was such a lovely space and if you are looking for somewhere for a wedding, I think it would be a great choice.

I don’t drive, so I stayed at The Tickled Trout for two nights – it was fine. On Sunday (and we all know how terrible Sundays are in the UK for anything), it took me 2 hours 30 minutes to get back when it would have taken 30 minutes in the car! Unbelievable. I got the bus to Blackburn and then the train to Manchester. A filthy train at that, pictures below.

Living in Japan has its downsides but transportation is not one of them. How is the UK so terrible with public transport?

Despite my moaning, I loved seeing my friend getting married and I wish them both all the happiness in the world.
