国内旅行: Tokyo to Hagi 2of6

It was kimono class today but the teacher just dressed me, so not much was learnt. I’ve only ever worn a yukata before and that was nice and breezy. The kimono nearly killed me – it was so tight I could only take little, short gulps of breaths but not really breathe out. I was wrestled into it but I was a little too long. The kimono was my husband’s grandma’s who has sadly passed away now, but it was a nice memory and I hope if she was watching, she wasn’t too upset with my ungainliness.

I didn’t walk around like that – a few photos and then back to western-clothed Emily.

We headed to Cafe Tikal for a coffee. My husband had a coffee with, you guessed it, natsumikan juice in the bottom. Being the kind person that I am, I offered to swap my iced latte with him. Let’s just say, his choice was an acquired taste.

I’ve started being very daring recently and going to onsen. Hagi has two onsen/baths that I know about that you can go as day guests: 1. Resort Hotel Mihagi and 2. Hagi Honjin. Both offer excellent value and are usually empty.

For dinner we went for Indian. Don’t ever get cheese naan in any form when in Japan and having Indian curry – you’ll think it’s a good idea but you will without a doubt definitely regret it.

Hagi really has some of the loveliest skies.

Day two, over.

Emily
