Bye Bye January 2024

Bye January, the month that promises so much and hello February, the month that makes me realise that the promises were all empty.

Kasai Rinkai has loads of daffodils out at the moment near the big wheel.

We got a new futon! I don’t want to be dramatic, but when we first moved here, we bought a very cheap futon and have been using it for the last 7 years. When I say it was flat, I mean, it was almost pointless sleeping on it, we probably would have felt just the same level of comfort sleeping on the floor!

The new futon feels like sleeping on a cloud – I can’t even begin to describe how great I feel now when I’m getting up in the morning- no longer does my back feel like it’s about to break.

Ice cream from Mini Stop. The spoon is made from ice cream cone (I don’t know what to call it – cornet? But isn’t that the whole thing?). Anyway, how clever!

Lunch at Coco Ichiban after a traumatising experience at the dentist for my husband.

We went to Koenji and mooched about the 2nd hand shops – some very expensive and the shops with British stuff felt like I would have been buying clothes to go hunting. We ended up at El Portego. It was nice and I thought it was a reasonable price but the seats weren’t very comfortable.

Hope you had a good January and a great start to February.
Emily
