I woke up really early this morning (for me) – 6am. I had a bit of bad news yesterday about my Grandad – he’s poorly and is in hospital now and I couldn’t get to sleep until about 1am. The time difference makes it hard to keep in the loop so I’ll speak to my mum today about him and see what to do.

I’d made focaccia dough last night, so I sorted this out and then made coffee. Feeling unusually productive, I did my Duolingo for the day (Italian) and then WaniKani. I caught up on news (gosh) and did the washing.

I’ve started trying to do arm and shoulder exercises recently (I started today) – I’m pathetically weak and have bad posture that I want to try and correct and I did rajio taiso with my husband when he got up.

Had lunch with husband – soup. We had soup yesterday as well and I was trying to remember what kind I’d made. I asked my husband and he said the brown one. Thanks. (It was actually leek + potato but I used miso.)

Homework for my Japanese lesson – N1 vocab from 新完全マスター語彙. This is my second time reviewing the book and although I have retained some stuff, I have forgotten a lot. I am Anki-ing this time using this format:

and it’s really working for me. I just lift sentences from the apple dictionary or here.

Spoke to my mum and she is going to the hospital to see my grandad and hear what the staff say is going on.

Planning to tidy whilst my husband goes and plays football. I’m naturally very messy, unfortunately (or not?).
