mooching in Monzennakacho

All I seem to do is eat. We went to see the early blooming cherry blossom in Monzennakacho and had an ice cream despite me saying before we left the house that I wasn’t eating anything sweet anymore. Something that I tend to claim quite frequently. We did share, so not so bad.

Then we went for coffee at BAKU Coffee Roasters – I had an iced latte, husband had drip coffee. I wish they could put cold coffees in normal cups/glasses instead of plastic. Coffee was espresso based – nice and strong with not much sourness which I don’t like but seems to be very popular here.

We wandered about for a bit and decided we were hungry so we tried our luck at TRATTORIA BUCA’MASSIMO. It wasn’t full but we hadn’t booked. When we went in, the lady looked a little hesitant – we have no way to know why – but managed to seat us. It was really good but it was pricey and they make you order a drink. I don’t really drink alcohol and I don’t like drinking fizzy drinks with food but I don’t like buying water when it’s usually free. We opted for some Sicilian (I think – no, it’s not, it’s from Piozzo nearish to Turin, so nowhere near Sicily) drink – it was a bit average. The water was held hostage until we’d finished our pasta dish.

It was really good food and we want to go back. The dessert was especially good (second sweet item of the ‘I’m not eating sweet things anymore’ day).

That was a day in Monzennakacho, mooching around. It’s a nice part of Tokyo if you’re bored of the centre.
