Happy New Year: 2024 take 2

Day two in Turin saw us going to The National Museum of Cinema which I didn’t really think would be anything much BUT it was! It was really good but again, you must must must book tickets in advance. The queue was crazy! I think it was due to the special exhibition being Tim Burton.

The museum is in the Mole Antonelliana – a fantastic building inside and out. You can go in the lift which you can see in the middle for a view of the city. The third picture is there because it reminded me of the lyric in Weezer’s Iambic Pentameter.

Lunch was at Ristorante Pizzeria Da Peppino and if cheap is your game, this is the place! It was a holiday, so it was €14 instead of €12 for two courses, a side and a drink! It was rammed and we had booked.

We headed to the Royal Palace of Turin which was magnificent.

Not as crowded in this one but definitely worth going. You could certainly feel the French influence in this area.

After all the walking around, we treated ourselves to a coffee break in Caffè Reale Torino. We shared a zabaglione which was incredibly alcoholic and tasted like rum sauce that you have on Christmas pudding.

Our New Year’s Eve was spent at our family’s home and they were such good hosts and cooks. I’m not normally into New Year but that was the perfect way to see out the old and bring in the new.
