Manchester: Art Gallery, Canals + HOME

I was back in Manchester for a little bit recently. One of the first things I did was get myself into the city centre (£2 bus fares – thank you, Andy). I love hanging out with my Mum and we first headed to Manchester Art Gallery. It’s in a lovely building and is smallish but packed with lots to see. We went straight to the cafe which was rammed and we both had the seasonal tart which was broccoli and cheese at £7 – amazing! Free filter water was available.

After enjoying the art gallery, we trotted about town. Great weather for September. Actually, great weather for anytime of the year for Manchester!

We were planning to see Past Lives at HOME which used to be the Cornerhouse but in a different location. I used to go to the Cornerhouse a lot when I was a student and it brought back good memories. The new place is such a great space and the cinema (or pictures as I would call it) was lovely. No bad behaviour which you will understand if you are used to normal cinemas in the UK. The film was really great too – in fact I watched it again on the plane back I loved it that much.

Taa veri mutch fo’ readin’ (say it in a Manc accent),
Emily
