I cleaned and did homework today. I have a Japanese lesson each week where (at the moment) I review N1 vocab and then read a couple of newspaper articles with my teacher. Then for homework, I review and Anki words I don’t know. Last week we read about exchange students and difficulties getting jobs with regards to Japanese language ability and then about ChatGPT and concerns unis have about it.

A beautiful spring day in Tokyo reaching 22ºC. We stayed local this year and today was really local. We enjoyed the new greenery that’s sprouted up everywhere, a melon kakigori and Indian at Indiyumm which we really enjoyed. If you are in the area, Prove is a really great bakery and the couple who run it are really nice.

We started the day at Tokyo Station, hunting around for T’s TanTan which we’ve been to before times but it still took us about 20 minutes of wandering around the station looking at maps, being none the wiser and until we finally stumbled on it.

We caught the train to Yokohoma, heading towards Chinatown.

We went to see a Scott Murphy show which was really good, made even better that it was seated!

After the gig we went back to Chinatown and had a few bits and pieces.

We spent Children’s Day in Urayasu at Asta, a pasta place that we’d been recommended to try. It was good and they seemed really accommodating towards customisation. Very friendly staff and I hope we’ll be able to go back for dinner sometime soon.
