may memories

Did I achieve my May wish list from last month?

  1. We used our JR Tokyo Wide Passes to go to Kawaguchiko and Izu Peninsula.
  2. I have been studying, I am planning to write a post of my favourite ways to study Japanese which I hope will be of some benefit and interest to people.
  3. Running – I have been running recently, nearly back to my steady routine of 3 times a week.
  4. Austerity May has been concluded a resounding success as we managed to save a fair chunk of change.   It all helps, so check out

april memories
I’ve been really terrible for blogging recently, I apologise for that.  I haven’t been tending to take many photos either whilst I’ve been out and about but I’ll share the ones that I have taken.

I started off the month by going to see the cherry blossoms (you can see more pictures here if you would like).  This below two photos are at Yasukuni Shrine.

Then these were taken at The Imperial Palace, at the moat.  The queue for the boats was ridiculous.

Happy Halloween!  Hope you had a spooky day!  I didn’t really do anything which is a pity because I really like Halloween.  We had scary pasta shapes which I didn’t even take a picture of and watched ‘Warm Bodies’ on Netflix which was really good.  I’d been wanting to watch it for ages and I really enjoyed it.

Some things I did in July which I didn’t mention previously

(The trees are nearby.  They look like they are in a very tranquil spot in this picture, but in fact quite a busy road runs alongside them and if you look close enough, you can see Tokyo Tower just peeping through.)

Lanterns at the Tanabata Festival at Zojoji (Temple).
